Traditional Chinese Opera and Creative Dance in Taiwan
(Performing Arts (Dance, Music, Theatre, ...)) Susan Tu is a former creative dance instructor with the Cloud Gate Dance Theatre, a modern dance group based in Taiwan and the first of its kind in Taiwan and Asia. It was founded by choreographer Lin Hwai-min in 1973. He is heralded as one of the original dance multiculturalists drawing his inspiration from traditional Asian culture and aesthetics. With dancers trained in meditation, Qi Gong, Martial arts, modern dance and ballet, his company transforms traditional Taiwanese dance vocabulary in thrilling modern celebrations of motion.
